52 Fire Incidents Occured During Homecoming Period

As many as 52 fire cases happened in the city during homecoming period starting from July 9-17, 2015.

Head of Empowerment and Community Participation (Partimas) Division for Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department, Abdul Chair stated, the fire causes within these 9 days were still dominated by electrical short circuit.

"Besides, it was also caused by gas explosion," he stated, Wednesday (7/22).

He told, if the cases are accumulated from the beginning of Ramadhan until Eid-ul Fitr, fire incidents in entire Jakarta reach 155 cases with a total of material losses amounted to Rp 43.8 billion. The numbers increase drastically if compared with the same periode last year.

"In the same period of last year, there were 79 fire cases with material losses amounted to Rp 15. 6 billion," he explained.
